Barcelona, Spain 2016

Our best friends flew in to Barcelona and we finally united with them. The vibrant city is a must see!  Antoni Gaudi's artistic style is seen throughout Barcelona. Our first stop was to Park Guell. The park is open to the public, but there is an area for paid visitors. Definitely worth purchasing the ticket and exploring the park. Time saving advice-purchase tickets ahead of time, then you can come to the park at the scheduled time. We just couldn't leave Barcelona without visiting the La Sagrada Familia Cathedral, also designed by Gaudi. Did you know that construction began in 1882? We got our hands on two tickets to tour the bell towers. I was able to see Barcelona from a bird's eye view. Progress of the construction on the cathedral is slow, but worth visiting each time.We drove out to the lookout point of Barcelona and took a ride on the very colorful ferris wheel. On a clear day, you can see from the beaches of Barcelona to the surrounding hills. We got to witness the fog moving in slowly over Barcelona, a very beautiful sight.Renting a vehicle and being able to move around freely was a true blessing for us.We were able to look at the map and just pick a place we wanted to visit. If we saw an amazing place to stop, we did! We came across beautiful forests and fields on our way to Girona. We just had to stop and take pictures. It was the perfect backdrop for a photoshoot.Since we were traveling with our friends, I couldn't help myself but to snap beautiful photos of them all through-out the trip. It sure helps that they are in love and a picture perfect couple.
