Segovia, Spain 2016
SEGOVIA, SPAINMARCH 2016My love for travel is a never-ending journey! My husband and I were able to travel back to Spain in March of 2016 with our best friends, Vlad and Nadia. Spain continues to surpass all of my expectations. The multi-ethnic culture, the architecture of old and new, the cuisine, nature and vegetation, the history, and definitely the coffee are just some reasons of visiting Spain again. With each visit, I am pleasantly surprised with all the new places I have yet to explore. Since we flew in a few days before our friends, we decided to venture off first to the cities of Segovia and Zaragoza.Segovia is an old picturesque city that has a royal palace built sometime around the 11th century. A little history lesson: The royal palace is where Queen Isabel agreed to fund Christopher Columbus' exploration of the New World! Segovia is also known for the many pedestrian-only streets, the royal palace, and the Roman aqueduct that we had to explore. We had an amazing time walking through the maze of streets and getting lost in the city. Did you know that the royal palace is said to be the inspiration of Walt Disney's Cinderella castle?
